If you’ve followed me long enough you know that I’ve written many posts about water. I was one of the first to tell you to filter your water and then bring your water bottle everywhere! I think it’s now a thing, don’t you? I first reviewed my Berkey water filter 14 years ago and 5 years after that reviewed it again because it was still such a staple in our kitchen. Now it has been another 10 years since that last review if you can believe it. And guess what? Our Big Berkey gets filled up and drained every single day. When you first check out the price of a Berkey you might be in sticker shock. I understand that because I was too. But when you compare Berkey to other water filter brands or the cost of buying bottled water, there is no comparison. For example, when my son went off to college we purchased him a small water filter that he could keep in his fridge. Do you know how many filters I had to buy him to replace every month? It was crazy!

The Berkey does not need electricity. All it needs is a natural source of water. I have a pond in my backyard and if my water stops running, I can fill up my Berkey and drink fresh, clean water.

Come to my house and I will let try a sip of tap water, a swallow of bottled water, and a glass of Berkey filtered water and you will be amazed how great it taste compared to everything else. You get spoiled drinking it. I have a hard time drinking water anywhere else. When we go out to eat I always bring my own with me. In fact, you will never see me without my water bottle full of cold, fresh, clean, filtered water.
I use it for all my cooking, in my coffee, in my tea. I can’t remember the last time (15 years ago, right?) that I drank from the tap. I only want healthy, great tasting water for my family.
