Simple French Toast

Simple is what I am. Simple is how you find me in the kitchen. Simple is the starting word to all my favorite meals! Bread is Simple. I love how it makes a meal complete and fills up our tummies. Tonight when I told O’Bear what was for dinner (do your kids drive you crazy asking what is for dinner every night?!) he asked, ‘is there bread?’ ha!

This past week we’ve swapped our bread for only Steel Cut Oats & Honey 100% Whole Grain from Oroweat’s Healthfull Bread line. It’s been great! One night I toasted it with garlic butter as a pasta side. For lunches the peanut butter and jellies have never been better. You’ll even find the boys grabbing a piece for a snack. But my favorite ways to eat the Steel Cut Oats & Honey this week was for breakfast.

Today I’m sharing 2 Simple Breakfast Ideas. What I love about them is you use the staples already in the house – mix and swap like-items to accomodate your pantry. We need Fast, Easy and Healthy, especially on school mornings to give the boys the fuel they need to head out the door.

6 slices Steel Cut Oats & Honey Oroweat Healthfull Bread

2 eggs

2/3 almond milk

1t Spices – I used cinnamon today {secret benefits of cinnamon}

Nutmeg or Pumpkin Spice are other options I considered.

1t Vanilla

Beat all above ingredients in a bowl. Coat bread with mixture and cook on stovetop until lightly browned.

Toppings today – Honey, Blueberries, Coconut
