“Mommy I love that app!” P’Diddy happily exclaims after we finish reading Laura’s Journey to the Stars for the second time. I have to agree with him. This may be our best storybook app yet.
Laura and her little brother Tommy build a rocketship in their room. While they are waiting patiently inside of it to startup and fly away on its own, they fall asleep and wake up in space! Take an astronomical adventure across the sky with Laura and Tommy with easy to follow narration, LOTS of (more than 80!) interactive animations, sounds, built in games, and a little magic from Laura’s star.
Really, this is the most interactive story app I’ve seen and why it has quickly become a favorite. It’s easy for P’Diddy to tell which ojects to touch and make the screen come to life. Even I was drawn in and found my finger wanting to touch all the pictures too, just to see what they would do!
Plus the beautifully drawn illustrations by popular children’s book illustrator Klau Baumgart capture our attention. All the pages are very bright and colorful and keep the attention of the presechooler who is following along.
Other Features of Laura’s Journey to the Stars that may be important to you:
– Captivating narration by native speakers in three languages: English, German, and Mandarin Chinese
– Social media sharing, volume and language controls, and library panel accessible via the title page’s teddy bear
– No in-app purchases
Do you have a child in your life that would love an app like this?
I was compensated for my app review and all opinions are my own.
