Do your kids buy for one another at the holidays? I can’t say that we have a set rule that they do, but they like to buy for each other! In truth they probably know what each other likes more then I do because all three of them constantly play together whether it’s video games or make believe.
The other day I was chatting about the movie Guardians of the Galaxy and how the movie was being released this week. Both my older boys had watched it in the theater so they were buzzing with talk about owning the movie. I secretly mentioned to P’Diddy that there were Guardians of the Galaxy toys too and would he like to go shopping with me for gifts? He said Yes! He couldn’t wait to head to Walmart to buy the toys, wrap them himself, and put them under the tree!
We found the display in the toy section, but in the middle of the big aisle. Hmmmm…what will P’Diddy pick out?
He knows his brothers well! He picked out both the gun sets so they could battle each other. The Star-Lord Battle Mask and Blaster Set plus the Star-Lord Quad Blaster. Both use Nerf darts. They will love it!
Now it was time to get wrapping. I set out the few materials that he would need on the floor.
At almost age five he can do a lot of the wrap, but still needs me for prep work and corners. I cut the perfect size of wrapping paper for him and I tore off the pieces he would need for the tape and stuck them on a bowl so he could easily grab when needed.
With a little assistance they were done!
Now the fun part was sticking on the bows and placing them under the tree. We don’t have our big tree yet, so he’ll get to do that twice!
Guardians of the Galaxy Blu-ray & DVD is available on December 9th at Walmart. Also…if you have Disney Infinity players…
