Is it that time already? I know that it is because when we head out to the bus stop it is dark. I’m ready for the time change – and the extra hour of sleep, even if it’s just for one night!

It also marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Change Your Clock Change Your Battery® program. Energizer and the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) are once again working with local fire departments nationwide to raise awareness on the importance of working smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors in helping to keep families safe in their homes.
Scary to think that 38% of fatal fire injuries occur in homes with no smoke alarms, while 24% occur in homes in which at least one smoke alarm is present but fails to operate, frequently due to dead or missing batteries.
You know when we change ours? When they start screeching in the middle of the night and we have to change them. Bad bad habit.
Remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when you set your clocks back – it could help save your life!

Also be sure to discuss with your kids a safety spot you will meet in case of fire. We have ours on the corner of our street. Hope we will never have to need it, but being in one fire already I know a escape plan is a must!
