Dubai: A Shopper’s Paradise

Actually, Dubai is a paradise for just about everyone and everything! The desert metropolis has been designed and built with just one thing in mind: the convenience and comfort of everyone who lives, works and visits the city. Technophiles can snap up the latest gadgets and innovations, wealth hoarders can shop for gold in the wonder that is the gold souk, adventurers can ski – yes, ski, at the world’s largest indoor ski slope despite the landscape outside being subject to some of the hottest survivable temperatures on the planet.

Dubai shopping malls are huge, air-conditioned and packed full of just about everything that is needed, wanted or desired by just about anyone from anywhere in the world! Just as Dubai has slowly but steadily built up its reputation for shipping and logistics, rising to be the centre of worldwide delivery systems, so too has the retail industry taken its purpose to heart. It really is a shopping haven.

Dubai Mall is well worth a visit, even by those who are not generally keen on shopping sprees as a rule. Not only is the mall based inside the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, but there is a regular fountain display that operates several times a day. Before you hasten to shrug off the idea of a fountain display as being a ‘few jets of water, set to music’, think again! In typical Dubai style the fountain is one of the largest in the world, with jets of water shooting some 500 feet in the area and the fountain itself, a series of five circles, covering an immense 900 feet from side to side. Once inside the massive mall, you could actually spend your entire holiday there without seeing it all or becoming bored, with entertainment for families and adults alike, designer clothing outlets and even a simulator that allows you to ‘fly’ an A380, the world’s largest plane.

Dubai is well geared for visitors and you will be spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing your hotel. Dubai is home to the world’s only 7-star hotel and your only consideration will be how much you want to spend on your accommodation during your visit to Dubai.

Once you are there, and settled into your hotel, you can shop freely without worrying about how you are to get all your new purchases home: Dubai is, after all, the world hub of shipping and freight!
