We’re going on a Picnic with Applegate Deli Meats

I am a lucky girl. The two grocery stores that are within walking distance of my house – Whole Foods and Target – both carry Applegate in their deli. I don’t even have to spend time debating. Applegate is always my choice for our sandwich making and the boys have one in their school lunch a few days a week.

Why? Applegate deli meats are always free of artificial ingredients and preservatives. Plus they’re made from vegetarian-fed, humanely treated animals with no antibiotics ever.

This rainy, cold weather has put a dampen in our spirits and when the sun finally peeked out this past weekend we took advantage and headed to the neighborhood park with picnic food in tow.

First though we put our sandwiches together at home. I laid out the spread and the boys built their own.

Applegate Picnic

They chose from:

  • Applegate Naturals Oven Roasted Turkey, Smoked Turkey, Genoa Salami, and Black Forest Ham
  • Applegate Naturals Cheddar Cheese and Provolone Cheese
  • Sir Kensington’s Non-GMO Mayonnaise and Spicy Brown Mustard
  • Rudi’s Organic Bread
  • Toppings including spinach, onion and peppers.

It’s much more fun to make your own, right?

I love how each child has their own preferences. O’Bear barely had anything on his sandwich, while C’Man was loaded with everything, with P’Diddy right in the middle as he picked and chose. We walked down to the park with the dog and the baseball gear and had a wonderful hour or so before the clouds rolled in and more rain came. ugh!

We’ll do it all again soon though, with our Build Your Own Applegate Deli Sandwiches. Please rain stay away! 🙂

What is your favorite sandwich to build with Applegate deli meats and cheeses?

I received these items for my post from Applegate and partners. All opinions are definitely my own.
