Being Ergonomic is Healthy!
The other day Hubby dragged me into a store. What did they specialize in? Ergonomic Office Furniture. He was almost like a kid in a candy store as he sat in their comfy, leather, gravity chair.
You see Hubby is a chiropractor and any type of product that is good for your body, he wants to have a part of it.
Ergonomics is the study of designing equipment to fit the human body. When you sit in a chair all day long for work, your body is going to get back at you because it is not happy! Even I notice when I’ve been sitting down blogging for too long. I get a nice little creak in my back.
There are chairs, desks, and computer accessories that can help you. Not only to keep you healthy, but to increase your productivity level. It is not fun to work when your body is not comfortable.
Here are some known problems with poor ergonomics:
- Sore wrists and carpel tunnel syndrome
- Tendonitis (inflammation of the tendons)
- Aching backs
- Neck and shoulder pain
- Numbness in arms or legs due to poor blood circulation
Start thinking about your posture and how you sit. Going day after day in the wrong positions will affect you long term.
Are you thinking about the type of furniture you use?
