Would love to hear your Cruise Tips + New York City favs!

It’s still four months away, but I already can’t sleep at night for my excitement. My mind is buzzing with ideas. You see, this May is my 20th anniversary and C’Man’s high school graduation. We have been planning this big vacation for years. It will be our first cruise AND our first trip to New York City.

I have been researching like a madwoman, but wish I had first hand experiences to hear tips on what to do/bring and what to avoid.

We are sailing out of the New Jersey port on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas ship. We will be visiting their private island CocoCay and the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas for sure.

We either have one afternoon before we leave to quickly visit NYC and/or most of a day when we return. We are staying in Newark, so taking the train over.

Please share your tips! On cruising or what we should see in NYC on a short, tight schedule. A little nervous about both, but SO excited!

Do you have any vacations coming up that you are planning?

  • Oh my gosh!!! Congrats and guess what!? Matthew and i May be going on a RC Cruise also this summer for our 15th anniversary! There’s so much to do in NYC! The Staten Island Ferry is free and goes right past the Statue of Liberty. The Central Park zoo is also free! Those would be the main cool things I’d recommend! I’ll chat more with you if you like! Also-get out!!!!! How is C-man old enough to graduate!!!? Wow!!
  • Sorry, no help from me on either the cruise or NYC, but I do have a boatload of best wishes for a great trip! Congratulations on your anniversary and your son's graduation. Have fun!!
  • oh boy....NYC is hard to do for the first time for a "quick" visit, but you have to go up the Empire State Building, go to Times Square, if you have time you should see a Broadway play!!
  • You're coming to my city! YAY! One day in NYC is rough but since you will be staying in NJ you can easily get to the West Side on Manhattan. Check out Times Square and hopefully the hustle and bustle does not scare you off!
