Visit the Gulf Coast Beaches + Instagram Contest

|

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Gulf County, Florida for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I think I’ve been a beach girl my whole life, even though I’ve only lived on the coast for close to six years. I didn’t even see the ocean much as a kid. My family travelled down to Florida multiple times, but I don’t remember much. On our honeymoon, we flew to the Caribbean to one of the best resorts in the world. I was in heaven on those sandy white beaches.

It was a dream come true when Hubby landed his first job as a chiropractor on the coast. Goodbye landlocked Midwest. Hello world! I hope I never have to leave.

I love visiting beaches and would like to visit every single one in my lifetime. I would also like to do all the water activites that are available and I’m sad to say that I have hardly done any. We went scuba diving on our honeymoon and I will probably never do it again because I was so scared! But I would love to snorkel or go scallopping or even stand-up paddleboarding, and the Gulf County in Northwest Florida is a supposed to be a wonderful, beautiful place to accomplish these activities.

43 miles of natural shoreline. It just sounds amazing with the unexpected wildlife encounters and the mysterious Dead Lakes. Seaside bike trails, kayaks, and salt water fishing are just a few more activites to check off my bucket list.

Other fun, kind of quirky facts about a Gulf Coast getaway:

~With two time zones, only two stoplights and spotty Wi-Fi, you can truly unplug and connect with the most important thing – your family. Sounds amazing…no blog posts for awhile…sorry BeachBums. 🙂

~The authentic and legendary Tupelo Honey is farmed in Gulf County. The harvest begins soon – late April or early May. In fact, the 24th Annual Tupelo Honey Festival is held on May 17 on the beautiful banks of Lake Alice in Wewahitchka.

~Cape San Blas, their white sand peninsula, has amazing westward-facing beaches, so the sunsets are spectacular. In fact, GCFL is known as the #championofsunsets. I know I would love to see one.

~Gulf Coast Beaches are consistently ranked in the top ten US beaches to bring your pets on vacation.  Leashed pets are welcome on the beach at all times which is something I’ve never heard of! Usually this is restricted.

Now for a fun contest and I love you love those! This is on Instagram so get out those camera phones! Celebrate you “unfiltered!” – the real you – looking beautiful in your “action” selfies.
