Naturepedic EOS Organic Mattress
I was sent for review the Naturepedic EOS Organic Mattress for better ergonomic organic sleep.
Even a kid can tell if their bed is not adequate, believe me. Hubby and I finally got a ‘good’ bed about four years ago. C’Man, being the oldest, followed a couple of years later. I hear almost weekly from O’Bear that he doesn’t like his bed. He KNOWS the difference.
Naturepedic contacted me to review a children’s bed and I might have been more excited – wait jealous – than O’Bear was because he was going to receive an organic mattress. Sleeping organic is the best possible thing you can do for your sleep health.
Why you ask?
How much time do we spend in our beds? Around eight hours, right? For the little ones the time is even more. When bedding materials are made with toxic chemicals we are in part breathing that in. Every.single.night. There are studies shown that these chemicals (in many products, not just mattresses) lead to adolescent disorders like allergies, asthma and worse.
Even ‘eco’ products might not really be from nature. Organic means certified and you know what you are getting from the testing they have gone through and the materials used laid out in plain view.

Our Naturepedic EOS {Ergonomic Organic Sleep} Mattress arrived in three boxes. Boxes like any other delivery. Hubby might have rolled his eyes a bit because he knew he would have to put it together, but since we were building it ourselves we knew exactly what he would be sleeping on. Don’t you ever wonder what is really inside your mattress??
Let me tell you why the Naturepedic EOS is so cool and might not be like anything you’ve ever seen. It is made with a multi-layered zippered construction that allows you to customize the layers from extra firm to plush. You not only can change out your layers years later if your preferences change (like with O’Bear who will have this mattress as he grows), but in the queen and king sizes you and your partner can have different layers on each side! Another great idea is when you are pregnant you feel and sleep different – now there is a solution in one bed.
Let me share a bit on the Naturepedic EOS organic mattress itself…
You have two choices for the top 3″ of your mattress which is the customized side you can swap out. Latex is one of the most breathable and temperature neutral materials available and best of all it’s made from the sap of a rubber tree! Or high-density Microcoils are individually wrapped for full body-contouring comfort with construction that completely avoids the use of glues and adhesives!
The bottom 8″ is your encased coil support. Wrapped in a durable organic cotton outer casing, the EOS coils are again individually wrapped for full body-contouring comfort in a plant-based PLA fabric. This method ensures isolation of movement (so your partner can’t bug you!) while promoting balanced support for proper postural alignment —-> yes!
It is all enclosed in an organic wool batting cover which wicks away moisture, provides natural fire protection, and offers temperature regulation, keeping you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Located directly under the wool, the PLA comfort layer adds resiliency to the quilt for increased performance and moisture wicking. Their non-GMO PLA is a made from potatoes and really is super soft!
Our full size bed is made with the top layer of microcoils in plush. I’ve pulled it back a bit so you can see the individual layers that came out of the box that we rolled out, inserted and stacked. Not hard at all! What we love about it is that it is not only cushy (aka plush), but you really feel supported which is very very important to chiro Hubby.

The other day I found O’Bear reading in his bed. Reading! This may be the norm for most kids, but I have such a hard time with this guy. I started teasing him that I caught him and he just smiles, “but mom my new bed is SO relaxing!”
I quickly snapped a pic so this moment would last. ha!
