LEGO! We all know the name. They are a staple toy that can be found in almost every home.

P’Diddy is at the age it is recommended to play so I was anxious to see what he would do! We received the Fire Station and he thought that the best part was that it came with a car and a dog!

His brothers quickly helped him put it together to form the station and had fun driving in and out! Vroom Vroom!

 

I have also been eyeing the DUPLO Cars 2 for my little racer AND the cute little Pooh. Can’t go wrong with any of them!

DUPLO Jams is the new big thing at LEGO! Music for preschools to rock and learn at the same time!

All songs are available to download and the first song ‘Build With Letters’ is written and preformed by a preschool dad!

 

They are really fun! Go listen!

My older boys received Pirates of the Caribbean Fountain of Youth. Of course they are already huge fans and couldn’t wait to put it together! With 128 little pieces I thought it would take them a little while to figure it all out. I have to admit they were pretty fast!

Then it was time to play…Aye Aye Mateys! And swords began to slash!

 

When they came home from school the next day they tore it down to start all over again!

 

LEGOS brings countless hours of fun and there are soooo many themes to choose from. My boys have a list a mile long…Ninjago, Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. I think they will be fans forever!

The Perfect Gift: For the Kids

Christmas morning is the best morning of the year, right? That is true when you are a kid and probably even true for many of us adults too. There is so much happiness and togetherness watching the kids open their gifts and play with their new toys.

I remember coming down the stairs, anxiously anticipating what Santa had brought me. My brother and I would always take note on who had the BIGGEST gift. My boys seem to do the same thing!

The recommend age for this toy is 3-6, but C’man who is 9 was the first one who started building!

I was impressed how the set came with ‘wood’ (foam) with ready-made holes and slots to really build! The big boys can easily read the instruction book it came with to build a birdhouse, airplane, race car, or whatever their imagination comes up with!

At 22 months what do you think P’Diddy’s favorite part is? Noise!

He LOVES to hammer loudly, but the most fun (or maybe I should say annoying) part our electric saw! He could push that button for-ever and make it come to life and saw everything around him, including us!

There are plenty of bolts and screws and the amount of storage it put everything away is great! Cleaning up is a big part of learning too!

This new set has definitely become a staple in our house!

The Perfect Gift: For any Child

Today I get to combine two to my favorite things!

Heirloom Wooden Toys and Books!

I bet you didn’t know that Heirloom Wooden Toys carries more than just toys. They do and I’m excited to get to feature one those items today. The KidKraft Avalon Bookshelf looks wonderful in my new library. Yes, I have a library! Well kind of. It’s a combined guest room and craft room too. ha! The kids and I have spent a lot of time in there getting the books all organized into categories and age groups.

The boys were happy the new bookshelf from Heirloom would get to hold THEIR special books and quickly filled it with Harry Potter, Artemis Fowls, Percy Jackson, and a few other favorite series. These are the books that we will always keep as part of our collection and are working at accumulating all hardcovers for.

This bookshelf is beautiful! The quality is superb and I love the arch that runs on the top. Cherry is what fit in for us, but is also available in white, natural, and honey.

Perfect size for any room! I can think of countless places I can put it ~

Family room ~ for dvds/cds

Bathroom ~ towels

Baby’s Room ~ cloth diapers

Kitchen ~ my knick knacks

I think I need another!
