My Little Apricot Organic Crocheted Tampons Giveaway Take 2

VERY Happy to feature Danielle again from Etsy’s My Little Apricot!

Just wrote a whole wonderful post about her in April so please go back to HERE and read it! LOTS of great info that I’m not going to retype so go read read read!

These crocheted tampons are handmade by Danielle’s own pattern that she has perfected. They are made with organic yarn that was grown, spun & dyed according to the Global Organic Textile Standard. Chemical free!

Can’t say that about disposables can we?

We had a couple winners back in April who have tried out this unique invention. Here is what they had to say!

The regular and mini that she sent, I love!  I am surprised by the amount they hold!

These work great!

and another prespective…

I love the tampons, but could not use them.  But being a resourceful gal, I use them as scrubbies every night to wash my face.  They are a lovely product that has held up well.

Danielle actually sells cute face scrubbies in her shop too!

Also, a BeachBum just ordered from My Little Apricot as an…

option for using when out & about… that’s my only complaint with the Diva Cup is if I happen to be in a public place & need a change it can be a little tricky (if not impossible). The LA tampons I could just switch out and put the used one in a wet bag in my purse – more discreet & less messy.

With three sizes – mini, regular, and heavy, you can find the perfect fit for you or use all three during different days of your cycle. My Little Apricot has trial packs of two in her shop for you to try!

Use Code CRUNCHYBCHMAMA for 20% off anything in her store! Thanks Danielle!!

If you are a tampon girl then I think you will really like these!

WIN 2 organic minis, 2 organic heavy and 3 organic regular!

Diva Cup Giveaway

The ‘reusable monthlys’ products go on! Did you know that there were so many options to choose from?

We’ve chatted about cloth pads (mama cloth!), sea sponges (very unique!), we will talk about tampons tomorrow (crocheted!), and today we are going to talk about Menstrual Cups.

The history…The menstrual cup was first developed in the 1930’s. It was made from rubber latex (an allergen for many). Because of management issues, the companies closed and menstrual cups were hard to find.

Over the last 15 years or so mother daughter team brought back the Diva Cup and today is made with soft, top quality silicone.

I was a little nervous to try this one, but I’ve only heard good things so that made me feel better.

I don’t know what I was worried about. It was smooth sailing!

My thoughts on why I think the Diva Cup is great…

~ easy. There seemed to be a lot of instructions on how to insert, but with a little practice it became easy as pie!

~ no mess. You don’t have to touch the flow at all. Take it out with the stem and everything is contained in the cup.

~ comfort. I was pleasantly surprised that it really was comfy! I could only feel it if I thought about it, but otherwise could go on with my day and all of my normal activities and forget it was there.

~ long time use. Wear the cup for up to 12 hours. Wow! Even overnight! Rinse it out and wear it another 12!

Diva Cup comes in two different sizes. One for the younger, never given birth, women. And a second size for the 30+ or have given birth mamas.

They are available through many retailers including Tree Hugger Mama Cloth who we just chatted about!

You can WIN the size of your choice today!

GladRags Sea Sponge Tampons Giveaway

The average woman uses nearly 17,000 disposable pads and tampons throughout her lifetime. In North America alone, an estimated 20 billion bleached pads and tampons end up in our landfills and sewage systems each year!

GladRags is here to help with that statistic! From cotton pads, to menstrual cups, to Sea Sponge Tampons!

Today we are going to concentrate on the sea sponges. Do they really come from the sea? Yes!

From the Jade & Pearl brand ~ Our sponges come mainly from the Gulf Coast of Florida, the Bahamas and occasionally, from Greece. We work closely with the University of Florida Sea Grant Extension Program to insure that sponge harvesting remains a sustainable resource. Sponge tissue left attached to the substrate when the sponge is harvested can actually grow to produce a new sponge within months.

Isn’t that very interesting?!!

I was very anxious to try these and wondered what I would think as a mostly pad girl.

I was quite happy and these are my thoughts!

~ conforming. They can squeeze and bend and fit right how they are supposed to. If you feel they are a little big then take a scissors and trim them up a bit. You shouldn’t feel them at all!

~ absorbent. I would wear mine for a few hours at a time with no issues. The kit comes with two pantyliners you may also wear if you are afraid of leaks.

~ easy. You can rinse them out right when you are done or put them in the cotton bag that the sponges come with for later cleaning. They should last 6 months to a year before you need new ones.

~ wear during sex. enough said :)

Be sure to check out GladRag’s cotton pads or organic undyed cotton if you’d like another option then Tree Hugger’s minky (yesterday’s review to learn why mama cloth is awesome). They are soft and breathable and you will never want to buy disposables again.

We want you find the perfect product to help you change over!

Win Jade & Pearl Sea Sponge Tampons with cotton bag + 2 GladRags pantyliners

2 Winners!
