My Journey to Coinstar #NoFeeCoinstar #CBias

Thanks for this Guest Post!

I know this may be hard to believe but I’ve never used a Coinstar machine…..until now. I wasn’t planning on going or using one but I got invited to make a mini road trip to a Bi-Lo where they had one so I decided I would go ahead & go. We collect our coins in a Ratatouille coin bank that we keep in our kitchen that I bought from the Disney Store years ago. I emptied it out, grabbed my kids & were on our way.

The Coinstar was easy to locate. It was right next to the Customer Service desk! :) I felt a little weird because I wasn’t sure if I was going to ask for help since I’ve never used one before but it tells you how to use one on the screen. You put your coins on a tray & tip it over into the machine, which immediately starts counting how much you have. Once it’s done, it gives you an option – cash, gift card or make a donation. Well, I saw with the cash option, they take out a fee so thank you but no thank you.

I saw there was many gift card options but with Bi-Lo having a NO FEE gift card, I just didn’t even have to think twice about it. Some people just can’t afford to get a percentage of their coins taken away, having a no fee card is a great way for people to save up & actually be able to use ALL of their coins to buy their groceries.

I did make a shopping list before I went to the store but I always either lose the list before I get to the store or I always forget I have it with me. With so many temptations, such as these yummy strawberry treats, it was hard to stick to my list. I do believe I bought more than I should have – in addition to my Bi-Lo card, I think I did have to pay a little extra but that was my fault. I just couldn’t help it though. There was so many deals all around me! Oh and did you know that Bi-Lo accepts double coupons every day? Yeah. Don’t walk, run to your nearest Bi0Lo, you won’t regret it.

All in all, it was a fun shopping experience & I loved that it was so easy for me to convert my coins into cash that I could use now. Check out my other pics from my shopping journey!

I walked away with a fun experience & after being on the country roads for so long, I was enlightened & know that one day, I’ll end up living the country life.

If you have the chance, be sure to check out Coinstar on Facebook & Twitter as well as Bi-Lo on Facebook & Twitter. Be sure to check out a Coinstar near you if you have coins piling up. It’s really easy to use, you won’t regret it! :)

Things To Keep In Mind When Travelling Overseas With Children

Thank you Nancy for this Guest Post!

Travelling overseas can be at times both exciting and stressful. It is exciting because it gives us the opportunity to explore new places, interact with different cultures, and generally make a break with the routine of our daily lives. On the other hand, the challenges of flying, seeking accommodations, and getting around in a strange place can all certainly make for a stressful experience at times.

That stress is usually only accentuated when we have children in tow. If our family is travelling overseas for vacation, business, or family purposes, we certainly don’t want to leave our children behind for any amount of time. But there’s no doubt that long flights, airport delays, and hotels that can’t offer the creature comforts of home can all put strain on a parent.

On this note, if you are planning to travel overseas with your children, here are a few tips to keep in mind:

Be Flexible

You might embark with lavish plans for touring Paris or Venice, but it’s always important to travel with an air of flexibility when children are involved. Be prepared to make last-minute changes in your schedule if the kids grow antsy, tired, or hungry.  Flexibility should also entail having the financial resources to buy medicine, take a cab, or get some food at any time. It can therefore be helpful to have a credit card with you that doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees, such as a Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Keep in mind that a search for “credit card cash back best“ is probably not going to help you out as much while travelling overseas, so find the card you wish to carry with you before you leave home.

Consider Health Restrictions

There are some countries where health advisories require vaccinations or shots before travelling. Sometimes it is inadvisable to give certain of these vaccinations to children, especially to younger ones who are currently undergoing a standard vaccination timetable back home. If you want to avoid a good deal of hassle and worry, then, it’s probably best to check the U.S. Department of State website before planning any trip with your kids.

Always Have Food

You can’t prepare for each and every possibility while travelling with your kids, but by always carrying a supply of food you can avoid many of the most frequent problems that arise when children are involved. Whether you’re sightseeing or stuck at the airport, you simply can’t go wrong by having a bag of sandwiches on hand, just in case.

These are a few of the considerations that any parent should keep in mind when travelling overseas with children. A overseas trip can be incredibly fun and enjoyable – even for a young family – but it is always important to be prepared.
