i play Fleece Vest for Toddler Giveaway

We have had a great winter. Hardly any days the past few months that I can call Cold. We’ve gotten by with sweatshirts and spring jackets for the most part. The big boys have a coat with an extra fur layer of warmth that they wear many mornings while waiting for the bus. Overall, no complaining from us this year.

When I spotted this Fleece Vest from i play, I knew it would be perfect for P’Diddy!

He can wear it with almost anything…from t-shirts to church clothes. The fleece is warm enough to keep the chill away, but the arms being free means he won’t get toooo hot.

It has an easy zipper up front and some cute pockets on the side. He is stylin’!

Gosh, I need one!

i play has a lot of great winter and outer wear on their site. Remember they partnered with Green Sprouts for some fun items!

During the month of February you can save 20% off using code IPFB12 on all Winterwear & Green Sprouts Disposables.

WIN a Fleece Vest in Navy or Hot Pink ($28)

Educational Insights Board Games Giveaway ~ 4 Winners!

We were due for a Family Game Night when our box of games arrived from Educational Insights. A great variety for us to test out!

We put our thinking brains on and got started.

We began with Grandma’s Trunk. (grade K+)

This game comes in the cutest ‘trunk’ or suitcase decorated with bright fun colors and icons. The cards inside are the same way.

With 5 ways to play, kids will practice letter names and sounds, build memory skills, create stories, and even play fun riddle games!

My kids are ‘officially’ to old or to young to play, at first glance. We actually made up our own rules though it does come with lots of ideas! P’Diddy is learning to say words and recognize objects. A for apple and G for guitar cards we used just to see if he knew and could say what the pictures showed. Then when he knew apple, we’d say ‘it’s a green apple’.

The older boys liked the riddle cards – You take me to the beach. (as they start shouting out answers). You can find me in the bathroom. (hopefully they can narrow it down). You use me to dry off after your bath. Towel.

Blurt was next. (ages 7+)

This was a game the whole family jumped right in with! We took teams, two on two, to test it out.

One of our best selling board games! Players take turns reading clues aloud, competing to blurt out the correct answer first and move ahead on the board.

The other team gave us a clue ~ ‘A sea animal that has a soft, elongated body and ten arms.’ The object is to yell out as fast as you can the right answer. C’Man, my partner, blurts out Octopus! Wrong! Ten legs the clue said. Squid!

We loved this game! I liked it because there were questions my 7yr old could answer, but at the same time there was also harder ones that made Hubby and I think.

Nowhere To Go (grades 3+)

I have lots of good things to say about this game! The rules are simple, it doesn’t take very long to play, it makes you think, and most importantly it is fun!

Trap your opponent in this step-by-step strategy game for two.

The description of the game says Addictive. You’ll want to play again and again. They are right! We have played this game, multiple times, every single day since it was opened. C’Man loooooves beating me 2 out of 3 and usually does!

O’Bear is in 2nd grade and while he isn’t as quick to strategize, he understands the concept and plays against us too.

We ended our night with TriTective. (grades 5+)

Do your kids like playing spies and detective? Then they will like this one!

The 3-letter mystery game! Race to crack the case using only 3-letter words.

O’Bear was best at being the spy, as that was the easier part. The rest of us, detectives, had to guess what word O’Bear held in his hand by the process of elimination. We took notes, used our clues, made some bad guesses, and solved the mystery!

There were three levels of play so as the boys get older they can move on up, though I think even level 1 was enough of a challenge for me! I loved how it made us all think as we raced to be the winner.

Thank you Educational Insights for a great Family Game Night!

iTunes Disney Book Apps Giveaway

We spent the week before our trip planning on what we were going to bring in the car for the drive down. Books, movies, activity books, and some new iphone apps.

Disney Book Apps is what we wanted to get us in the mood!

It’s A Small World ($3.99)

Hubby makes fun of me. I’m a little obsessed with It’s a Small World at DisneyWorld. I think it was because it was the ride I remember best from when I was little. It was the first place we headed after walking through Cindrella’s castle. More on this later ~ we’re talking apps now!

Cutest app ever. Or maybe I’m biased.

This animated app takes readers on a world-class adventure packed with whimsical interactivity, beautiful artwork, and unforgettable music. You’ll span the globe, traveling over snowy Russian hilltops, across sunny African plains, and through deep ocean waters. Rich, surprising interactivity brings each new destination to life.

The animation is adorable and even I love singing along with it!

Cars 2 World Grand Prix Read and Race ($6.99)

Now P’Diddy is obsessed with Disney Cars. Well all types of cars for that matter. He likes watching, playing, and reading all about Cars so I was thinking about this app mostly for him, but it is one that all my older boys liked too. Cars racing!

There is a lot you can do with this app!

This action-packed app features stunning Disney/Pixar movie images, exciting tap-and-play interactivity, professional narration, music and sound effects, 3-D car customization, and two amazing racetracks.

They got to read/listen to the story, then build their own car, and race! I bet you can guess who liked the story with sounds and who couldn’t wait to customize and race around the tracks!

Pooh’s Birthday Surprise ($4.99)

Love Pooh. Since we were celebrating a birthday too, I thought this would be a cute app to grab.

I wasn’t disappointed!

As children read along with the word-by-word narration, they are invited to join in the birthday party planning with their favorite Hundred-Acre Wood friends. Early-learning activities include: identifying and extending simple patterns, problem solving, vocabulary awareness, and story comprehension.

As we read along with Pooh, the words are highlighted and there are things to do on each page. Touch the screen to make it rain or shake the phone to bounce with Tigger. One needs to think think think just like Pooh and planning his party. CUTE!
