It made me feel so good the other day when C’Man asked me if he could have a new bible. The one he had been using has become childish to him and at almost 10 years old he wanted a bigger kid’s bible. I don’t blame him. We searched online to find one that would suit him. Of course, our search led us to Zondervan! I should have just started there. They have the best Christian book and bible selection around!
The NIV Boys Bible was created especially for boys ages 9 to 12 and helps them grow into the young men God wants them to be. Fun in-text features help boys dig deep into the Word and learn about amazing people, facts, and stories of the Bible.
Lots of Boy features including…
Makin’ It Real ~ apply sections to everyday life. ‘Ever notice how guys who don’t follow God still get ahead?’ Goes on to talk about the Psalm 73 and finishes with ‘Those who live like the devil may eventually live with him.’ Right on!
Grossology section ~ gross and gory stuff you never knew was in the bible. I was going to quote you a passage, but they really ARE gross! C’Man loves reading them aloud to me to get my reaction. Yuck!
Also What’s the Big Deal & Check it Out are other random tidbits throughout the book. The writing is blue and the titles are in orange which gives it that kid feel. It really is a great Boys Bible!!
C’Man loves toting his Boys Bible to church class with its hip look. We even find him sitting down at home reading different parts. Makes me happy!

This is what arrived in the mail today and I was ohhhing and ahhhhing. What beautiful, Springy, colorful bibles. They are sooo lovely!
Bible Clutch ~ are classic and chic. The PERFECT size to fit into my bag and bring to service with me. It zips all around to close and even has slots inside for credit cards. Part Bible and part wallet!
NIV Thinline Bible ~ also a great size to take with you or store in smaller spaces. Extra thin at less than an inch thick. Pastel colors and whimsical designs makes me want to show it off to the world…or at least my friends!
The Bloom Collection ~ available in a variety of pretty flowers. Daisies, Poppies, Tulips, & Lillies graze the covers. I wish you could reach out and feel this Bible. The leather texture is soft and amazing. Comes in two sizes too!

The nativity is a big part of Christmas and my family eagerly anticipates opening that box every year.
What child doesn’t like lift-the-flap as they follow along? Very fun!

I am in awe of this book. Amazed that biblical stories can turn into the perfect childhood books. We can’t help but be drawn into the beautiful illustrations and words that just roll so easily off the tongue.
Listening to Noah’s Ark is even better when looking at great pictures. Wouldn’t you agree?
At last, the boat landed quite suddenly on top of a great mountain. As soon as it was safe, God said, “Out you come!” And so they did – everyone skipping and dancing onto dry land.
The deluxe edition also comes with three cds that are perfect for playing in the car. It makes everyone be quiet, listen, and relax to our next destination. The best part is the discussions that come after each story.

We are a book family. I am a huge reader. No matter how busy and tired I am you will find me reading before I go to bed each night.
I instilled that into my children of course. We have lots and lots of kid’s books and I continue to pick them up all the time.

I was impressed when I first heard about Little Green Books ~ a new eco-friendly series from Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing Division.  eEach book in this series will be devoted to educating children about the benefits of being green.
The book O’Bear is reading to P’Diddy above is The Polar Bears’ Home, a story about global warming. It is printed on 100% post-consumer waste recycled paper with soy-ink.
We love polar bears at our house and this is the cutest story about a little girl who is worried about the baby bears who got separated from their mother because the earth is getting warmer earlier each year and how it is affecting their life cycle.
The next book we read is What Do You See? Why is this book so great? Besides the reason that the entire book is composed of 100% recycled materials, it is a lift-the-flap!
Each new page has an endangered species hidden and we must guess what animal it is through the cute rhyme ~ “my pointed horn is hard to miss…and makes it hard for me to kiss!” ~ a rhino!
A new family favorite is I Can Save the Ocean! Little Green Monster usually makes a mess at the beach, but soon learns why that is bad. He changes his ways by recycling, reusing, and other clever ways to keep the ocean clean!
