Any kind of outing requires me to bring my backpack. Whether it’s going to watch the Rockies baseball game, heading to the zoo, or taking a hike, I have to wear my bag. Why? Drinks and snacks must come along! This month is National Organic Month and I’m happy to share with you my favorite backpack snacks including the snack mix I always make and why I drink Honest® Tea to go along with it.
My King Soopers (Kroger store!) has a great bulk aisle where I pick up my snack mix ingredients. I like to do it this way because then I can just buy the amount that I need to make for the week. Sometimes I’m lazy and buy an already mixed package – they have some great ones already done for you in this section! I also grab my Honest Tea. I can find it in two places in the same aisle. In the cold fridge ready to go and on the other side of the aisle in the Live Naturally section (love this section in every aisle! A must to buy organically).
My Snack Mix contains:
Pretzels. I use whatever I have in my pantry and break up into bite pieces.
Isn’t it pretty?
Mix it up if you want with other nuts, dried fruits, dark or white chocolate nibs or peanut butter pieces. It’s all so good!
Other Backpack Snacks I often bring along:
Jerky or meat sticks
Fresh Fruit or squeezes
When I drink tea, I only brew organic. I don’t want any pesticides or unnatural flavors in my drink. That is why I buy Honest Tea. Not only do I love the flavors – Pomegranate Blue is my fav, while Half Tea Half Lemonade is Hubbys – but they are Certified Organic AND Fair Trade. Made with real ingredients!
I also like to buy their plastic PET bottles for my backpack because they are so lightweight after we drink them and I can bring them home to recycle. OR I can reuse them like I did here to grow herbs!
To celebrate National Organic Month, all Kroger stores have Honest Tea on sale – 4 for $5 all month long. Stock up! It’s a refreshing, just a tad sweet, treat to stick in your backpack. Or anywhere of course!
