One of the best holiday memories I have as a child is making cookies with my mom. I remember putting on my apron and getting flour all over my hands. Making messes in the kitchen is all part of the fun, right? Each year I have the same tradition with my boys who love getting just as dirty!
This time they even got to go shopping with me to pick up all the supplies. We headed to Walmart who carries the goodies for the Hallmark movie Northpole.
It was hard getting them out of this aisle! SO cute toys – Northpole Communicator (yes hear the elves!), Snowball the polar bear Plush and Book (who shivers when you touched his nose!), The Avalauncher (snowball launcher!), and many other items including some elf-baking accessories.
We grabbed 3 Magic Snowballs (they glow when thrown!), Snow Now! (Instant snow…really!), and to assist us with our cooking make we have Bake like an Elf baking tools with recipe cards, Sprinkle Bell and Rolling Cookie Cutter.
I was originally going to make the Winter Magic Sugar Cookies and I will, but for the post today we decided to try the Snowball Cookies because that seems to our theme in our shopping – snow snow snow! Both these recipes and more come with the Elf kit.
My little guy looooved helping out and using the elf measuring tools to pour in the ingredients. These are Elfin measuring techniques kept secret for hundreds of years! We were privileged to be in on the secret using a mesauring jingle bell, a mitten and a measuring shoe that was never previosly worn…hee hee.
The recipe was VERY kid (and mom!) friendly. We added sprinkles on ours just because we wanted to test out our very unique sprinkle bell.
Now that we are elf supplied we can’t wait to watch the movie Northpole on the Hallmark Channel on November 15th at 8pm EST. Check out this sneak preview of the City of Northpole.
