The Amazing Spider-Man Movie Night #SpidermanWMT
As you probably know by now we are a superhero family. How can we not be with three boys? Any reason to PaRtY with these tough guys is reason enough for us to have a little FuN around here!
This weekend we had a Spider-Man themed day to pre-celebrate the movie release for The Amazing Spider-Man on to DVD and Blu-ray. We started off the morning by downloading the The Amazing Spider-Man Augmented Reality App, available at iTunes and Google Play, that triggers special activities as you shop for Spider-Man merchandise at Walmart.
Earlier we had headed to Walmart to pick up some party goodies! You can visit our shopping trip HERE to see all we bought and to learn what the app actually does. It does some pretty cool things…
First, what is a party without pizza? Martketfresh Pizza in the deli section is pretty good! The boxes are colored with our favorite superhero. You can actually point your phone over the box and it becomes a 3D world! Yes it does!
Same with the movie cover. It comes to life! Set the pizza box and movie cover next to each other and another character appears with Spiderman. This techy world is amazing to me! There is also a part of the app to create your own custom comic book with your photo. When you trigger the app on the Walmart store displays, it unlocks the cover and more pages of your comic book story. Very FuN! Even Hubby couldn’t resist playing around.
We then came home to get our party together. What is a party without pizza AND what? Cake of course! The kids and I baked the coolest Spider-Man cake we could. I don’t have the best decorating skills but it is easy enough to add a little web action on top.
I set up the table with our Spider-Man plates, napkins, new cups for the kids, red juice to drink, red salsa and chips. We let them eat everything in front of the tv as we watched the brand new, not even released yet, The Amazing Spider-Man!
oh yes, and someone had to get in the Spidey mood! 🙂
