The #Outlander Series is coming!

I have been an avid reader all my life. I find time in my day, mostly before bed, to read. I like a huge variety and if it is a hot book – Twilight, Divergent, Hungry Games, etc. I will have read it. I can’t miss out! Especially if it is going to be turned into a movie. I must read it first.

If you ask me to pick ONE book or maybe one series to recommend to you I will say Outlander first. It is a thick historical fiction story about Claire who accidently goes back in time to the 18th century where she finds herself in a dire situation and must marry Jamie. Many, many years later I am reading book #8 that just came out this month. Jamie and Claire are still together, but have endured many trials along the way. FANTASTIC read. A definite all time favorite! I don’t collect many books on my bookshelf anymore, but I have every single one of the Outlander stories.

When I found out that there was going to be a television show on this series, I was SO excited. Like jumping up and down excited. I am in love with these characters and now I get to watch them come to life!

The Outlander series will premiere on Saturday, August 9th at 9pm EST on STARZ, but I’m going to admit to you that I was a lucky girl and was able to watch the first two episodes already. What did I think?

AWESOME! oh my. The scenery alone is breathtaking in Scotland. Jamie and Claire are just like I imagined them to be and I love having a picture of them in my head as I’m reading the latest book. The episode was full of history and romance (for the guys right?) and followed right along the storyline I had in my head with a couple of small added parts for TV, but you knew that would happen. Have to spice things up a bit to attract attention. Jamie is enough attraction for me though…just look at that kilt. hee hee.

My hubby knows nothing about the Outlander story, but I know he would love this adventure series and I’m excited to be able to watch it together after the kids go to bed.
