Laundry Can Be Easy & Natural #MaytagMoms

 

Stinky diapers, grass stained jeans, and food spotted t-shirts are part of our everyday laundry. Oh, don’t let me forget Hubby’s sweaty stained work-out clothes either.

I don’t have any magic powers that erase the stains away, but I will share with you two products that we use in our house for almost everything.

Baking Soda & Vinegar.

Who knew that two cheap products that you can find in every grocery store could work wonders?

For everyday cleaning just mix vinegar and water to wipe down anything. For sinks and showers that need an extra scrub, get the baking soda out of your cupboard. Its crystals work wonders. Really!

The laundry is no different. On a ‘regular’ stain I pour a bit of vinegar directly on the spot and immediately wash. For ‘tougher set-in’ stains I will make a paste with my baking soda then let it sit for awhile.

It helps that I now have an amazing Maytag Bravo XL washer with PowerSpray Technology. A mixture of detergent and water is sprayed directly onto clothes to immediately start cleaning.

This is really cool to me, as I will sometimes use my eco-friendly detergents, instead of baking soda, to mix with water to set on my stains. This kind of does all of that for me. Who knew a washing machine could be so smart?

 

The dryer is very smart too. It has two really cool features.

We already chatted about the Advanced Moisture System that can detect when your load is done. It evenly distributes the heat, even in large, heavy loads.

My Hubby loves the Auto Refresh Cycle. It helps with wrinkles and uses steam to refresh clothes. Once you set the cycle, it will continue to restart every few minutes so your clothes aren’t laying in a heap until you are ready to grab them. How often do you leave clothes in the dryer for hours to get them out to be a wrinkled mess? It was very often for me!
