Homemade Slow Cooker Meatballs
This post is sponsored by Bertolli for my homemade slow cooker meatballs or crock pot meatballs as I usually call them!
My weekly menu has been boring lately. I seem to rotate the same type of food each night of the week – Mexican, burgers, salads, chicken, and pizza on Friday nights. I try to get Hubby to help with suggestions, but he usually says he doesn’t care. Recently he surprised me by saying spaghetti and meatballs. I shouted back, yes! I have just what I need to make the perfect ones.
Even better? I was going to cook them all afternoon in the slow cooker. You need…
Homemade Slow Cooker Meatballs
1 lb Hamburger
1/4 c Bread Crumbs
Fresh Parsley
2 cloves Garlic
1/2 Onion chopped
1 Egg
Grated or shaved Cheese – I used a Parmesan, Romano & Asiago mix.
And the most important ingredient to marinate in…Bertolli® Tomato & Basil Sauce {they even have organic!}
To make – Mix all ingredients, but sauce, in a bowl. Shape into round meatballs. I was able to make 19 of them. Pour the Bertolli sauce into your slow cooker first and drop in the meatballs by laying them side by side. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours. When you uncover them later there will probably be a thin layer of grease from the cooked meat on top you need to skim off. Pour on top of any pasta.
How easy was that?! Served with salad and garlic bread. I even surprised them with Italian Soda to drink and cannoli for dessert. Delicious! Each member of my family loved it and we had such a happy meal. We even brought out the red checkered tablecloth to get the real Italian feel. Every night since then my youngest has been asking when are we going to be Italians again and eat spaghetti and meatballs? Oh very soon little one. I think we’ll be adding pasta to our weekly menu.
Viva Bertolli and join me in celebrating 150 years of delicious Italian food, friends and family. Felice Anniversario and Buono Appetito!
