Heartwarming Movie ~ Little Red Wagon
About a year and a half ago, movie trailers took over our neighborhood. I didn’t really know what was going on except the word on Facebook was that they were filming a movie called Little Red Wagon.
I didn’t think much about it again until last week when I was contacted to watch the movie before its release date. How exciting!
Friday night is typical Family Movie Night at our house and we all sat down to watch. I really knew nothing about it except what I read from the summary…
Little Red Wagon is based on the inspirational true story of eight-year-old Zach Bonner on his quest to change the world with nothing more than his beat-up red wagon and a blazing spirit of philanthropy. When Zach sets out to help homeless children in America in the wake of Hurricane Charley, by walking from his house in Tampa, Florida to the White House, he must overcome bureaucrats and blisters, and capture the hearts of his fractured family and the entire nation.
We started watching and within two scenes Hubby knew someone! How crazy is that? We learned that a lot of local people had been cast for extra roles.
I was glued to this movie. It was one of the most heartwarming movies I have ever seen. Knowing that it is a true story about a remarkable little boy is amazing. An eight-year old kid who dedicates his life to helping others. Who takes the initiative to push on forward when obstacles got in his way. It made me want to be a better person!
Here is a little preview trailer…
Little Red Wagon is directed by David Anspaugh (RUDY, HOOSIERS) and stars Anna Gunn (BREAKING BAD) and Chandler Canterbury (KNOWING). Opens in select cities on Friday, October 19 and others shortly after.
Watch with your kids!
