Benefits of Chia Seeds
This month is a 30-day adventure for me to be gluten free. Since I was changing up my diet, I went to google to ask about how I could find more fiber. Chia seeds was one of the answers! Let me share with you on what I learned about the benefits of chia seeds.
Benefits of Chia Seeds
- 1 serving has 11g of fiber {plus omega-3 fats, protein, many vitamins and minerals}
- 1 serving has 18% of recommended daily calcium to help with stronger bones & teeth
- Boost your energy. Chia means ‘strength’ and they give you endurance.
- Healthy for the heart. Lowers your blood pressure and regulates cholesterol.
- Loss weight. They help make you full faster as they expand in your stomach and even help fight belly fat!
When you use chia seeds alone sprinkle them on salads, mix them in baked goods, add them to oatmeal, yogurt and smoothies. You won’t even know they are there!
When you soak chia seeds you ‘sprout’ them and there is much talk that they are even healthier then! When you soak them they get surrounded in a gel like substance. To see what this tastes like you need to try a Mamma Chia Vitality Beverages! I AM ADDICTED. They have a new line I just got to try too – Chia & Greens – which you’ll see the 4 flavors above.
The Chia & Greens line contains:
2500mg of Omega 3’s – the ONLY green drink with this nutrient.
7grams of Fiber – many green drinks contain none at all.
4grams of Protein – up to 400% more than other green drinks.
12o calories – one of the lowest amounts of sugar in green drinks available.
I buy all organic Mamma Chia products at Target, Whole Foods and Amazon.
Also find them at MammaChia.com – check out all the flavors!
Besides the drinks you’ll also find Vitality Bars, Granola Clusters, Chia Snack Squeezes.
