It’s cookie time of year! I really miss working in an office because we would get to test so many desserts. ha! Now it’s just me and the kids baking away. The best part though is the sharing. Right?
That is where Rubbermaid TakeAlongs will come in handy this year. My Walmart has a huge display right on an endcap in the kitchen aisles. Choose your shape and size and which festive holiday color you’d like. They are perfect for storing then delivering your baked goods and can be used again and again!
Let me show you how we used ours…
We made Almond Butter Chocolate Bars which is a healthier version of the bars my mom used to make for us as kids. They are scrumptious and I love passing them along!
On the stove bring to boil then remove from heat: 1/2c {organic} sugar & 1/2c honey
In a bowl mix together: 4c {organic} corn flakes & 1 1/2c almond butter
Combine all ingredients and press into a 13×9 pan.
Melt 1c {dark} chocolate chips & 1c butterscotch chips together. Pour on top layer.
We used holiday sprinkles to make more FuN for this time of year. You can put in fridge until chocolate cools then take out and cut up to serve.
Even a box of bars needs a homemade card to say who it is from so P’Diddy and I made Candy Cane Gift Tags!
Cut a piece of 12×12 cardstock into 4 sized squares. This gives you 4 tags!
Craft your candy cane alternating with red and white paint. We experimented using both our fingers and a brush and they both work great! Depends if the kids like to get dirty or not…lol.
Don’t forget to add your name so they know who the goodies are from and any other message you want to write.
Trim to the size you’d like and tape on top of the Rubbermaid TakeAlongs. You are ready to go!
TakeAlongs holiday selections include TakeAlongs Rectangle, TakeAlongs Deep Square, TakeAlongs Serving Bowl, TakeAlongs Serving Rectangle, TakeAlongs Deep Rectangle, and the TakeAlongs Deviled Egg Tray. They feature Quik Clik Seal™ technology which keeps food secure and helps prevent spills in transport, plus a great lid that seals it tightly, but still easy to open with the pull tab.
You can use them in the microwave and freezer and are dishwasher safe. Important to us greenies too – they are Recyclable, BPA Free and Made in the USA.
This whole project took about half an hour. Not kidding! It’s easy, fast, creative and yummy!
Do you give baked goods as gifts this time of year?
Will you make some almond butter chocolate bars? Yummmm.
