I’ve chatted many times on this blog why sleeping naturally is VERY healthy for you and we really shouldn’t look any other way. Today we are going to talk about Why Organic Cotton. My knowledge comes from the My Green Mattress blog post titled Organic Cotton – Better for the Earth and for the Environment.

These chemicals pollute our air and water supply, and have a grave effect on those working with or living around the areas where cotton is being grown and treated. Across all agricultural sectors, an estimated 1 to 5 million cases of pesticide poisoning occur every year, resulting in 20,000 reported deaths among agricultural workers and at least 1 million requiring hospitalization (The True Costs of Pesticides).
Just think about all the cotton you use on a daily basis – clothing, stuffed animals, blankets, sheets, tablecloths, furniture, mattresses, towels. We are breathing in those chemicals used to grow it. It’s easy to understand why SLEEPING would be even more important when it comes to organic cotton. I know I like to spend my 8 hours at night breathing naturally. Think of all the problems (like severe eczema and allergies to name just a couple!) that can occur because most of us don’t.
