Learning Resources Plant & Grow Set Giveaway
We had so much fun the other day. It was a beautiful sunny day during our Spring Break and we invited the neighbors over to have a potting party!
I pulled out our new Primary Science Plant and Grow Set that we just received from Learning Resources and our seeds that we were going to plant. The kit came with a watering can, rooting tray, observation jar, 2 solid and screened lids, 3 pots, trowel, 3 plant markers and 10 activity cards with different ideas and on what and how to plant.
In our three pots we were planting beans because I knew they’d grow fast, cilantro since we’d never grew a herb before, and fushia that O’Bear had brought home from school one day. Plus I had a couple of other pots I wanted to use to replant.
Each of them had a job and they worked together to get it accomplished. One child scooped the soil, another laid the seeds, and who had the best job? The one who got to water of course!
After one week our bean plant already looked like this! The boys were THRILLED!
Gardening is such a learning experience! Touch, Smell, Science. The activity cards that came along with it were a great way to get us started. C’Man learned that it is better to soak the bean seeds first and so he was in charge of following this card. I love it watching his mind go to work!
