Small Business Saturday is November 24th
Have you heard of Small Business Saturday? This will be its 3rd year. Over 100 million people participated last year and this year the aim is even higher!
Small Business Saturday is held during the biggest weekend of the year ~ right after Thanksgiving and Black Friday and before Cyber Monday. It is a day dedicated to remind people to Shop Small in their communities.
Over the next couple of weeks leading up to Small Business Saturday, I will be chatting about why I think this is an important day, both for business owners and how it will benefit the consumers shopping.
Today I want to share with you why Small Business is important to ME 🙂
The most important reason – our entire income depends on it. Almost three years ago Hubby started his own chiropractic business. It was very scary! Would anyone come by? How would they hear about him? Will we be able to survive?
Secondly, I like to consider my blog a very small business. I make money and my goal is to be able to stay at home once P’Diddy goes to Kindergarten instead of working outside the house for more income. Will I be able to? How do I keep your attention so that you keep coming back?
Last, I think about Small Business a lot when I make purchases – both locally and promoting on the blog. My favorite people to write about and feature are women who run their own stores. To give you a quick glimpse, if you click on the Etsy category on my sidebar you will see a ton of great mamas with handmade businesses and products.
I don’t know about you, but Small Business owners inspire me. It takes hard work, determination, and the right attitude to succeed. Many people I know are raising families, volunteering in their community, and trying to make the world a better place all at the same time. These people are great examples to our children ~ don’t you think?
Mark your calendars now! Two weeks from today!
Will you be out shopping?
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for American Express. I received a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
