Yogurt, Parfaits, and Smoothies oh my!

We’ve been having a yummy week at my house eating and drinking…

Redwood Hill Farm yogurts in flavors like Apricot Mango, Cranberry Orange, & Wildflower Honey.  Kefir in Mango Orange Pineapple and Blueberry PomegranateMade from un-homogenized whole goat milk and no rBST hormones.

Green Valley Organics yogurt in Honey, Strawberry, & Peach. Drinking Strawberry Pom Acai & Blueberry Pom Acai (the miracle fruit!) kefirs. All lactose-free.

Do I have your attention yet? Some more facts for you…

Kefir is a cultured probiotic beverage similar in taste and texture to a drinkable yogurt. It is completely natural, with no sugar, artificial coloring, preservatives, stabilizers or powdered milk. The word kefir is thought to have been derived from the Turkish word “keif” for “good feeling”.

Goat’s milk has more easily digestible, short and middle chain fats and protein solids than cow milk and may be enjoyed by many people who are lactose intolerant. It is considered by many to be the “must have” superfood because of its ease on your digestion system and excellent health benefits.

These two companies are the only dairy lines with Flourish – a unique blend of 10 carefully selected live and active cultures. It has been shown to have different and complementary probiotic health benefits, from helping keep your digestive tract running smoothly, to manufacturing vitamins to boosting your immune system and protecting you from harmful bacteria.

Are you taking this all in?

P’Diddy eats yogurt for breakfast everyday. I usually buy an organic cow’s milk yogurt, though if you know me, you know I don’t love that. I have a favorite almond milk yogurt that I prefer and very excited to get to try these goat milk and non-lactose varieties!

They are thick and oh so creamy. We have all been sneaking into the fridge for a bite…the flavors are awesome.

There is also Plain of course…I’ll add the pumpkin granola I picked up or fruits.

The other night we titled Smoothie Night and I laid out frozen fruits, juices, and the Kefir. Each of us chose what we wanted Hubby to mix up. It was fun because everyone chose a different combination! Don’t be afraid to boost it up with flax seeds or wheat grass. Maybe add some more flavors with nuts or coconut!

Are they pretty?

You can look online to get many recipe ideas for your yogurts and kefirs. I like the Pumpkin Pie in the Sky Smoothie and great for this time of year!

Be sure to check out both of their websites. They are FULL of information and facts that I know you will find interesting.
