Learning with Kumon Workbooks

| |

You may have been browsing Barnes and Noble one day and came across a table of fabulous workbooks. I bet you that they were Kumon Workbooks! This is how I was introduced to them. The look, the feel, and the selection of product just draws you in.

THE KUMON METHOD is what makes our workbooks so unique and effective. This Method is a proven learning system developed to help each child reach his or her full potential. Concepts are introduced in a step-by-step manner that allows the child to master each in turn without getting frustrated. Before long, children gain confidence in their abilities and are motivated to learn on their own.

Kumon Workbooks

I knew that P’Diddy would love some variety in our daily preschool homeschool hour.

Kumon Workbooks

Kumon was kind enough to send me these four books to try at his level, age 3-4-5…they are terrific! See for yourself.

Kumon Workbooks

My Book of Numbers 1-30 We work on our numbers 1-10 everyday and this was the book I was most excited for. My activities have become boring for him and we needed something new.

This book is great because of the variety – mazes, writing numbers, dot to dot, and lots of other ideas to make learning fun. Love seeing the smile when he completes a page and knows he did it!

Kumon Workbooks

First Book of Drawing. Fabulous book! Even I am learning how to try basic objects. One thing I am not good at is drawing so I love the easy step by step instructions that even a three year old can follow.

After each of the steps are drawn and colored you flip the page and draw apples all on your own! Isn’t P’Diddy drawing beautiful apples?

Maze Kumon Workbooks

First Book of Mazes. He LOVES mazes. He would do them all day long if I let him! I try to limit two a day during school time otherwise I’d be buying books left and right.

Travel through towns, parks, cities, neighborhoods in this book.  Great for teaching pencil-control and learning to stay between the lines.

First Book of Cutting. This kid would always have a scissors in his hands if he could. cut cut cut. He can cut paper into a million tiny pieces all day long.

Can he cut in a straight line? Or a nice curve? Well he’s learning to now! He was so proud of himself with that first worksheet and how he had to cut up the thick black line. He is getting better already!

The pages are thick and the colors just pop out at you. Each page is another fun theme that entices the little (and bigger kids!) ones to want to learn. I’m going to look into a multiplication workbook for my 4th grader next. He should have them memorized better then he does and hoping a fun workbook will help with that!
