I’ll be out Shopping for Small Business Saturday! Will you?
This week I received my monthly magazine full of coupons for local businesses. I love flipping through this to see if there is anything good. I also like how it introduces me to places I have never heard of before. For this edition, I was happy to see that the back cover was dedicated to Black Friday and what each Small Business was promoting for that day. I think it would have been smart to mention Small Business Saturday too, but it still made me think about where I wanted to visit over the weekend…places I wouldn’t have thought.
My first stop on Small Business Saturday is going to be to the small independent resale shop. P’Diddy needs new jeans. You would think that being the youngest he would have plenty, but I can not find any from his brothers that were passed down!
Next, I’m going to head to a Small Business that specializes in eco-friendly and organic products. They are situated right between Trader Joes and Whole Foods and I’ve always wondered if it was hard for them to survive there. I’m going to give them a visit for the first time because it is definitely beneficial to Shop Small and see what I can grab from them instead of the chains.
Then, since I’ll have the kids with me (my hubby is working at his Small Business) I’m going to take them to a toy store. This Small Store is right out of the movies. It has specialty brands and sample toys placed throughout the store for the kids to play with and test out as we browse around. They do a really good job and I would much rather buy toys from them, rather than some other BIG place we know that gives me a headache as soon as I walk in – know where I’m talking about? 🙂
In the evening, our family will head to one of our favorite Small Restaurants for dinner. Maybe the pizza joint down the street or across town for a burger and fries.
It will be a great day!
