What I Would Do In Virginia Beach
Maybe I should start a whole series on different beaches along both coastlines. That would be really fun! I would love to explore different areas in our country. Even if I haven’t been before. What do you think?
Today I’m going to chat a little about Virginia Beach! I have never been there, but I have a friend who is from there. It’s supposed to be a great place with a lot to do. Many activities to keep the family busy.
Some of the places I would take my family when visiting Virginia Beach are…
~ We LOVE aquariums so our first stop would be Virginia Aquarium. My favorite part of them are when you can touch the sealife. This aquarium as over 300 hands on exhibits. Also a 3D Imax to relax and watch a movie!
~ We’ll be taking a walk along the three mile Boardwalk. The Atlantic Ocean on one side and nautical sculptures on the other. Awesome!
~ Half way through our walk we may rental bicycles – maybe even a tandem one – and have a scenic ride.
~ If I get brave enough I will enjoy a parasail or jet ski ride. Wouldn’t my kids love watching me do that?
~ We are definitely going on a Captain Jack’s Pirate Ship Adventures! Oh my the boys would loooove that!
~ O’Bear’s favorite animal is the dolphin. I would love to take him on a dolphin sighting tour.
~ My boys also love miltary/war stories and they would have a blast AND learn a lot at the US Navy’s Master Jet Base
~ Hubby and I would try and escape and find a beautiful golf course to hit a few balls
~ We will eat well and find a local resturant to eat outside and enjoy some fresh seafood
~ Shopping is a must too at the one of the many malls or it might be more fun to visit the local farmer’s market or the Resort Area Shopping which is forty blocks of souvenir shops, surf shops, boutiques, art galleries, craft shops and more!
And of course we’ll have to stay on an oceanfront property so that we can spend a little time each day at the beach to build sand castles, swim in the water, have picnic lunches, and maybe take a little siesta underneath our umbrella as we listen to the ocean waves.
That is what we would do in Virgina Beach! Have you been there? What did you do?
I wrote this blog post while participating in the SocialMoms and Virginia Beach Tourism blogging program, for a gift card worth $40. For more information on how you can participate, click here.
Seasons UV Swimwear Giveaway
We were visiting my father this weekend and the boys were swimming at the pool. He turns to me and asked ‘why do the they wear those shirts?’
Well dad there are a few reasons they do!
- They are warmer for off season ocean water
- They are fun and cute!
- They protect skin from the sun is of course our #1 reason
We are not huge suntan lotion fans. Yes we use it when we need it which is longer periods of time out in the peak daytime hours. But I prefer to use as little as possible. One way we do this is by covering up with protective gear!
My boys wear their sun shirts to swim lessons, to the waterpark, and of course to the beach!
O’Bear’s swimwear from Seasons UV is very fun! It has a hidden back pocket, a longer tail to cover his behind more, and the shark is supposed to magically get darker in the sunlight. He loves it, along with his matching board shorts that reach down to his knees. He looks like a little surfer!
C’Man is the super hero of the day! What better way to get your children to want to wear their swimwear then by giving them their favorite characters to act like. This shirt is very form fitting with a high neck. Perfect for him!
Be smart in the sun. While we all do need some sun benefits, the ultraviolet rays can be harmful when we have been exposed for too long. Having safe, fun, lightweight, swim gear is a wonderful option and I am so glad that we have found a great store like Seasons UV to help with that!

Camelbak Insulated Water Bottle Giveaway
Our water bottles are a very important part of our summer days aren’t they? I don’t leave the house unless every person has their own container filled with ice  water. What I don’t love about most bottles is they don’t keep anything cold. I like my water icy. Don’t you?
Camelbak let me test out their Better Bottle Insulated ~ it has double walls ~ like a bottle inside another ~ to keep the drink colder longer and reduce the condensation. It’s BPA-Free too!
Their are a couple of other really neat features too.
First, it has a spill proof bite valve as a spout.  The Big Bite Valve is proven to help you drink up to 24% more (recent Pepperdine University study) and it’s the same bite valve used by NASA astronauts.
Second, they come in great colors. I received the lavender which is more of a purple + pink = blue. It’s really cool looking that even Hubby uses it! lol!
Of course of our favorite place to bring it to is the beach!
This picture is a tad misleading because really he can’t drink with the bite valve….yet!
Now I want to show you the water bottle that first introduced me to Camelbak because of the uniqueness of it!
The Groove ~ a filter that is built right into the straw! Super awesome!!
Now Insulated + Groove would = PERFECT!
Hope that is next Camelbak!
They also have kid bottles, stainless steel, & sports performance ones! Be sure to check Camelbak out!!
Win an Insulated Better Bottle in color of choice!
